HOW TO PERMANETLY GET RID OF PESTS FROM YOUR HOUSE.

I know you are here because rats, cockroaches, wallgekos and the likes would not let you have peace. Are you tired of rats eating up your food stuffs?  I know you tired of bed bugs disturbing your beauty sleep and making you uncomfortable on your own bed? Or are you not tired of cockroaches causing unprecedented noises, or termites eating up your wood, or scorpions making you uncomfortable in your own home? In this article you will know how to eliminate or possibly deal with these pests

Insects and rodents are the major insects that make people uncomfortable in their homes. Most times you try various methods to get rid of them, all to no avail; and these classes of animals don’t only eat up your food stuffs, but also your clothes, woods and other materials in the house, causing undesirable noises in the process. The major perpetrators of these crimes are RATS, COCROACHES, TERMITES, BEDBUGS, SCORPION, and ANTS etc.

THESE ARE THE SEVEN STEPS TO PERMANETLY GET RID OF THESE PESTS.

STEP 1

FIND THE SOURCE; it is said that to eliminate a problem permanently, you need to first find the roots of the problem; like it is done with a tree, to eliminate a tree completely, you first cut off the root and the branches will fall never to grow again. That is why it seems like no matter how hard you try to chase these pests away from your house, they just will not go away. This step is all about finding their hideouts (source) in your home. You need to find where they lay their eggs or reproduce in your home or where they enter from and destroy it. This is how to find the source.

  • Empty your house completely, room by room; and check for hiding spots for these insects especially in hidden places like under the bed or behind the wardrobe, or holes, or ceiling, which they use to penetrate into your house
  • Destroy these hideouts (holes). Block the ones that need to be blocked, with cements, woods etc. destroy their village members and children that they have invited to spend the vacation at your house. Or else they would just multiply and all your labour would be futile.

This might look stressful, but you know the saying ‘nothing good comes easy’. If you do not find their hideouts or sources, the order steps would just be futile, because they will eventually come back.

STEP 2

Regular House Antenatal (RHA); this is the second step after finding the source. This is an uncommon house cleaning style, it is similar to finding the source, but you do not need to empty the whole room; all you need to do is after locating their hideouts, you push and clean. This means, if these holes or hideouts are behind your wardrobe or under your bed or under your cushions, just push them out, re-clean and apply insecticides on those areas. It is advisable to apply these insecticides on all the corners of your house. You should do this at least twice a week, because consistency in this step will help chase these pests away faster.

STEP 3

ENVIRONMENTAL SURVEY AND CLEANING; while the first step is just a onetime thing, the other steps are to be done regularly; however the second step can be stopped, when the pests evacuate from your home. This step deals with your outer environment, especially those living in rural and less developed areas.

  • Make sure you cut all bushes and grasses around your environments, except for your gardens and make sure you maintain them.
  • Take care of your sewages, gutters, suck ways etc. regularly and make sure you maintain them, because rats and cockroaches reside mostly around these areas.
  • Never litter your environment with waste item, always dispose refuge properly.
  • Sweep your surroundings at least once a day; but it depends on how clean or dirty it looks.
  • Do not work around barefooted, especially entering your house with dirty legs or shoes.

This step gives these pests less breathing space to stay around your environment, making it harder for them to penetrate into your house.

STEP 4

HOUSE CLEAN UP; do not underrate this step, because it is very important. If you follow step 1, 2, 3, but you do not follow step 4 judiciously, the rest would just be a waste of your time. A dirty house is what attracts these pests

  • Sweep your house at least twice a day.
  • Mop and dust your house, with a clean mop or rag after sweeping.
  • Never use the same cleaning materials, that you use to clean your outer surroundings to clean inside your home, if not you are just inviting the pests into your home.
  • Always keep your house in order, by arranging everything, from your clothes, to your shoes, to your cosmetics and deodorants, books, files, furniture, home appliances and food stuffs should all be properly arranged and kept in order (P.S; use baskets, boxes, cupboard, shelves and counter etc. for efficient arrangement of household materials. They are good for material arrangement)
  • Always clean up food stains that accidently spill on the floor, to prevent ants, from hovering around that spillage and infesting your house.

STEP 5

ADDING EXTRA PROTECTION TO YOUR FOOD ITEMS, this is another very important step. These pests are mostly attracted to food items like; sugar, dry fish, noodles, yam etc. Adding extra protection to your food gives these pests no easy access to penetrate and eat your food.

These are the ways to add extra protection to your food items:

  • Put items like sugar, honey, caramel etc. in the refrigerator, because these pests are easily attracted to food items like this. Putting them in the refrigerators makes it harder for the pests to be able to eat them, because they cannot handle the temperature of the refrigerator. Moreover, it preserves these food items.
  • Also put your fruits and vegetables, you are not ready to eat immediately into the refrigerator.
  •  Put food items like dry fish, stock fish and other related foodstuffs that are easily attractive to this rodents in a safe container and you can re-seal with portable nylons or boxes that have no penetrable holes.
  • Whenever you have left overs, most especially soups; put them in the refrigerator or heat them, if you do not have a refrigerator.
  • For those who do not have refrigerators, or freezers, just re-seal your food items properly to make it difficult for these pests to eat them up.

STEP 6

BEING NEAT: this next step is also very necessary, not only to chase these pests, but also to improve your standard of life and socialization. The bible says cleanness is next to Godliness.

Ways of being clean:

  • Do not pile up dirty clothes for long, wash at least twice a week.
  • Never leave your food open, or keep them carelessly around the house
  • Always clean, every single drop of sugar, or soup or stew or any cooked or uncooked item that spilled on the floor, because these classes of animals feed on these food items. Moreover, it makes your house look dirty.
  • Do not keep waste cans or trash bins inside your house. The only type of trashcan that is advisable to be inside your house, are trash-containing papers alone. Any other type of dirt should be properly disposed outside.
  • Do not leave your dishes undone for a long. It is advisable to wash immediately after eating or at least twice a day. Piling up dishes attracts these pests to the leftovers.
  • Do not bring dirty furniture or household equipment into your home e.g. Sofas, cushions, bed, wardrobes, cupboards etc. Inspect them thoroughly and make sure they are free from bedbugs and other insects.
  • Do not wear dirty shoes, or allow dirty shoes to enter your house
  • It is not advisable to get on your bed first before showering, after a long day at work or mingling with people. Always take your bath and have a change of clothes after work or business hours.

STEP 7

APPYLING INSECTICIDES AND NOT LOCAL KILLING METHODS; this step is also very important. Using hands, or shoes and other local or traditional materials are not advisable for you to use them to kill these insects. Not only do they not work effectively, they also make your house look tattered and dirty with bloodstains everywhere. Using insecticides kills faster, while still keeping your house in order.

I will advise you use the following insecticides:

  • Baygon—for insects
  • Napoleon balls; it comes with scent
  • Rambo
  • Raid
  • Sniper etc.

Please make sure to follow the guidelines of these insecticides to avoid terrible side effects.

To wrap this up, following these steps judiciously and consistently, will permanently wipe out these pests and within a short period of two to three months, you would enjoy peace and serenity in your home.

Just, FIND THE SOURCE, REGULAR HOUSE ANTENATAL, ENVIRONMENT SURVEY AND CLEANING, HOUSE CLEAN UP, ADDING ROTECTION TO YOUR FOOD ITEMS, BEING NEAT, APPLYING INSECTICIDES AND NOT LOCAL KILLING METHOD, and then these pests are permanently out of your house.
